PHR/SPHR/GPHR Exams Information SessionsNOVA SHRM will be holding workshops on how to prepare for and take the PHR, SPHR and GPHR certification exams provided by the HR Certification Institute. If you are interested in taking these exams, establishing study groups, or recertifying your credentials, please join one of the several weekend sessions running throughout the fall.
Forming study groups is a time-tested way to prepare for the PHR/SPHR exams. If you would like assistance in forming a study group with other NOVA SHRM members, contact Lee Webster, VP of Education, at 703-535-6047 or by e-mail at lwebster@shrm.org.
Education and Communication PolicyNOVA SHRM will list on its Website and put in its newsletter (1) all SHRM prep courses, and (2) all human resource courses by non-profits or educational institutions (whose core mission is education) which the Vice President of Education believes would benefit the membership. There will be an annual (on a calendar basis) charge of $25 per listing, and $25 for each change to the listing. Informational public service announcements for a non-profit, at the discretion of the President, will be made without charge. In addition, Website links, to educational institutions with whom the Chapter has a relationship with, will be listed on the Website without charge.
HRCI Certification ReimbursementAs a member of NOVA SHRM, you are eligible for a reimbursement of $50 for passing the PHR exam and $75 for the SPHR and GPHR exams. To apply for reimbursement complete the attached form, attach a copy of either the letter of notification that you passed the exam or your HRCI certificate and mail to: NOVA SHRM Treasurer, PO Box 2474, Springfield, VA 22152.
