Dress for Success relies on financial and in-kind donations from a range of supporters, including individuals and organizations such as NOVA SHRM.
For the third year in a row, Dress for Success has been named a 4-star charity-the highest rating-by Charity Navigator, America's largest independent evaluator of charities. This rating indicates that Dress for Success excels in successfully managing their finances, as compared to other organizations.
While the suits they receive are vitally important and enable them to help their clients with their first step towards self-sufficiency, they also need funding to sustain their employment retention programs. Northern Virginia's public libraries are a resource to those who may have a limited budgets and who want to learn more about Human Resources. There are increasing numbers of students, a shortfall of books, and limited access to Human Resources/ Human Capital knowledge in public libraries.
To help narrow this knowledge gap, NOVA SHRM has started the "Books Wanted" drive to collect academic and scholarly books in English and all other languages. Contents take priority over condition, and used books are as desirable as new books, when their contents are current and their condition is presentable.
NOVA SHRM is collecting and donating HR-related books to Virginia public libraries and stamping the donations with a message that reads "Courtesy of NOVA SHRM, www.novashrm.org." This is a great opportunity to contribute to the community and to help get books into the hands of those interested in HR in our area.
Please bring your HR-related books to any NOVA SHRM event, so that we may collect them and distribute them with our stamp of donation to our community.
Thank you in advance on behalf of NOVA SHRM for your future contributions to the "Books Wanted" initiative!
