Northern Virginia, one of the major metropolitan areas in the country, is a major hub for government entities, national associations, defense and government contractors, and technology companies.  The Northern Virginia Chapter for the Society for Human Resource Management (NOVA SHRM) is honored to be the largest chapter in the area bringing together more than 800 Human Resource professionals. The Chapter provides numerous high quality programs, networking and developmental opportunities, certification support, and community service to the members it serves in the Northern Virginia community.

Our monthly chapter meetings, professional development seminars, academies, and special interest groups (SIGs) offer a wide array of valuable programs and educational opportunities. The program topics range from new legislation that affects HR to the latest trends in social media. At NOVA SHRM, the member, non-member, visitor, student, and entrepreneur will find a community that satisfies all their learning needs ensuring they have the keen knowledge to apply at work.

In conjunction with the Dulles SHRM chapter, our Pinnacle award winning annual mentoring program provides our members a confidential environment with plenty of opportunities to develop and acquire mentorship skills they may not be able to obtain through their own daily work experiences.

For the HR aficionado and/or the one entering the field, we regularly host orientation and educational sessions targeted to inform you of upcoming HRCI certification opportunities. For those members recently certified, NOVA SHRM shows its commitment to advancing the profession by providing them with certification rebates up to $75.
