Program Details:

The #metoo revolution has dramatically increased the influx of employee discrimination and harassment complaints across the United States. These complaints, if substantiated, must be addressed with prompt, corrective remedial action. Federal government contractors have added responsibilities, under the FAR, for maintaining an effective ethics complaint and resolution process.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Conducting workplace investigations is one of the most challenging duties that HR professionals must take on.
  2. A poorly conducted internal investigation can cost a company financially, damage its reputation and decrease employee morale.
  3. This seminar will focus on best practices and provide guidance on how to conduct proper investigations.

Today’s HR professionals are routinely investigating and resolving complex charges of employee misconduct, and these time-sensitive investigations are often compounded by challenging interpersonal dynamics, intense document review and the ever-present threat of litigation.

In this session, an experienced employment lawyer and seasoned internal investigator will describe the anatomy of an effective investigative protocol, modern deception detection techniques, and how to design, control and execute an investigation process that yields a fair and defensible outcome.
