Program Information

Change happens, and is part of most of our day to day professional lives. This session will provide a brief overview of the Change Management discipline, and then focus on understanding change at the individual level. We’ll address the topic of resistance and provide strategies for mitigating and addressing resistance.

  • HOW WILL THIS PROGRAM BENEFIT A SEASONED HR PRACTITIONER: As an overview session covering the basics of change management and managing resistance it would be a good high-level refresher for a seasoned HR Practitioner, and may even highlight areas for continued learning.
  • HOW WILL THIS PROGRAM BENEFIT AN ASSOCIATE, OR MID-LEVEL HR PRACTITIONER: For a mid-level practitioner this session might be a refresher and/or provide direction for further learning.
  • HOW WILL THIS PROGRAM BENEFIT AN ENTRY-LEVEL HR PRACTITIONER: The benefit for an entry-level practitioner is exposure to the concepts and awareness of skills and tools for further learning if they choose to do so.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants come away with a deeper understanding of why resistance to change is normal and natural, and some strategies for mitigating and/or address resistance.
  • Participants will learn about a brain-based model for collaborating with and influencing others.
  • Participants will come away with a basic understanding of the change management discipline.

She has proven expertise in leading and facilitating large-scale IT and cultural change initiatives, from strategy and planning, to implementation and execution.

Driven by a passion to develop healthy organizations, Jessica earned a Masters of Science in Organization Development and Knowledge Management from George Mason University (GMU). Jessica is also an NLI (NeuroLeadership Institute) trained Coach, Adjunct Professor at GMU, Certified Scrum Master, and Certified Infinite Possibilities Trainer.
