NOVA SHRM Introduces “HR on the Move” — A New Event Supporting Career Transitions

With many HR professionals facing career changes due to government workforce shifts or organizational restructuring, NOVA SHRM is offering a new way to stay connected, supported, and inspired. Whether you're actively job searching or simply exploring what’s next, this
event is designed to meet you where you are.

🌟 HR on the Move
🗓 Monday, July 21
🕛 12:00–1:00 PM ET
💵 Free for NOVA SHRM members | $25 for non-members

[ REGISTER TODAY ]

“HR on the Move” is a one-hour virtual event created for HR professionals navigating transitions. It’s a chance to gather
practical tools, hear from experts, and connect with others who understand the unique challenges and opportunities that come with change.

The event will be hosted by Sharifa Gomez, who will lead a conversation focused on navigating career
movement with clarity and confidence. Dr. Rachel Boehm, chair of NOVA SHRM's Mental Health and Wellbeing special interest group, will join as a featured speaker, sharing insights on mental health and wellbeing—especially relevant for those managing
the emotional side of job changes.

Attendees will also hear from career partners and external experts offering resume tips, job search strategies, and guidance on how to stay professionally engaged during a transition.

“We created
this event to be a space where people feel encouraged and equipped—not just to get through a transition, but to grow through it,” said Elizabeth Mull, NOVA SHRM vice president of marketing and communication.

The event is open to both members
and non-members of NOVA SHRM. While members can attend for free, non-members are welcome to join for a $25 registration fee. This inclusive approach reflects NOVA SHRM’s commitment to supporting the broader HR community—not just during the highs,
but also through the in-between moments.

Additional Support: Transitional Membership
For current NOVA SHRM members who are between roles, the organization also offers a Transitional Membership option. This allows members to extend their benefits for six months—at no cost or a reduced fee—so they can continue participating in events, programs, and networking opportunities while exploring their next opportunity.

To apply, members
submit a short application with a resume and confirmation of employment status. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and a limited number are approved each year.
